Mark Knopfler concert in Antwerpen 2015

Mark Knopfler BelgiumFrom May 2015 Mark Knopfler will be on a world tour and on this occasion he will give a concert in Antwerpen too. Mark Knopfler is a British songwriter, film score composer and guitarist.

Knopfler is best known as the lead guitarist and lead singer of the rock band Dire Straits. During his career Knopfler composed film scores for eight movies including The Princess Bride, Wag the Dog, Cal and Local Hero and he also released 9 solo albums and he also worked together with many musicians including Sting, James Taylor, George Jones, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Jools Holland and so on. His latest album Tracker was released in March 2015.

Mark Knopfler will be on a world tour from the spring of 2015 and he will give plenty of concerts all around Europe including Antwerpen, Dublin, London, Glasgow, Zürich, Amsterdam, Paris and so on.

The Mark Knopfler concert in Antwerpen will be held on Friday 5th June in 2015 at the Sportpaleis and the next night Mark Knopfler will give a concert in Amsterdam on the 6th June 2015. Tickets for the concerts are already available.

Andre Rieu in Brussels in 2015

Andre Rieu BrusselsAndre Rieu the Dutch violinist and conductor will be back in Brussels in the middle of November in 2015 with a brand new show with his world wide known orchestra. Andre Rieu got world wide known with the Johann Strauss Orchestra which he formed in 1987.

The Andre Rieu concert will be a colourful and full of surprises show and in this unique concert 60 musicians and soloists will take part. The repertoire of the Andre Rieu show will include various music styles including romantic, emotional ballads and waltz music as well.

Andre Rieu is on a world tour with his Johann Strauss Orchestra from the beginning of 2015 and the Andre Rieu concert in Brussels will be held at the Palais 12. The concert will take place on Friday on 13th November in 2015. Good news for all the Andre Rieu Belgian fans out there because Rieu will also perform in Hasselt in Belgium as well. The concert in Hasselt will be on Saturday on 21st November in 2015 at the Ethias Arena. Tickets for the concerts are already available.

Franz Ferdinand concert in Brussels 2015

Franz Ferdinand BrusselFranz Ferdinand is on a world tour from 2015 and on this occasion the band will perform in Brussels as well. Franz Ferdinand is a Scottish rock band which was formed in 2002.

The line up of the band contains Alex Kapranos (lead singer, guitar and keyboard), Nick McCarthy (rhythm guitar, vocals and keyboard) Bob Hardy (bass guitar) and Paul Thomson (drums and vocals). During their career the band released four studio albums and received two NME Awards and was nominated to several Brit Awards and Grammy Awards as well. The most famous songs of Franz Ferdinand are Take Me Out, Ulysses, The Dark of the Matinee, The Fallen, No You Girls, Walk Away, You Could Have It So Much Better and so on. Franz Ferdinand will be on a concert tour from the summer of 2015 and on this occasion the band will give a huge show in Brussels too.

The Franz Ferdinand concert in Brussels will be on Wednesday on the 24th June in 2015. The concert will take place at the AB (Ancienne Belgique). Tickets for the concert are already available and you can buy them on the link a bit further down in this article.

Exhibition on the works of Chagall

ChagallThere will be a major exhibition on Chagall at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium from the end of February to the end of June 2015. The exhibition focuses on the works of Chagall.

Marc Chagall was a Russian-French artist who was born in 1887 and he died in 1985. At the exhibition over 200 various art works will be presented to the visitors and the exhibition gives a special attention to the works of his Russian period. The wide collection of his art works show the main themes of his work such as the connection with the Jewish culture, the various folk traditions, his discovery on the 17th literature (La Fontaine) and the use of colour and light on his paintings. The early works of 1908s until the final works of 1980s will be on display in the museum. This colourful exhibition gives the chance to the visitors to have an overall look on the artist’s career and the main stages and development in his art.

The exhibition on Chagall will be held from 28th February 2015 until 28th June 2015. The exhibition will take place at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.

Exploring the works of Portaels

PortaelsThe exhibition on the famous Belgian artist will be shown at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium from the middle of February to the end of May. The exhibition ‘Portaels and the call of the Orient’ shows the works of the Belgian painter.

The famous Belgian painter Jean Portaels was born in 1818 and he died in 1895. He is known for being one of the most influential painters of the 19th century in Belgium. The exhibition will answer the unanswered questions and reveal the secrets of his works. The exhibition mostly focuses on the early days of the works of Portaels and the exhibition displays the works of Portaels of the Orient travels which he made between 1845 and 1847. He transferred the experiences from Egypt, Syria and Palestine to sketches and paintings and later in his life Orientalism became his major theme. The exhibition will show countless of works of the Belgian painter even paintings and sketches that has never been exhibited before.

The exhibition ‘Portaels and the call of the Orient’ will take place at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels from 10th February 2015 to 31st May 2015. The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 17.00, from Saturday to Sunday it is open from 11.00 to 18.00.
