Belgium on the right track in Euro 2016

After a sad start on Euro 2016 with a loss against Italy Belgium is now back on track and they have been incredibly lucky with everything. In their first match in the knockout stage they will play against Hungary, maybe the biggest surprise in the entire tournament, who won their group in front of Iceland, Portugal and Austria.

Most people will say that Belgium is very lucky to play against Portugal in their upcoming match. Before Euro 2016 most people said that Hungary was among the worst teams in the entire tournament, and on the paper that might be true, but so far in the tournament they have played some fantastic football and their last group stage match against Portugal was probably the funniest match to watch so far during the entire tournament and it was the match with most goals so far (it ended 3-3).

The match against Hungary will be played on June 26^th at 21.00 and there is little doubt about the fact that Belgium are big favorites in front of the match. But, can Lukaku, de Bruyne and Hazard impress and play fantastic football when it is more important than ever? Or can Hungary surprise once again?

On October 13th the last matches will be played in the Euro 2016 qualification stage, and this might be a very important evening to Belgium. There will be played some matches before that so the table might change before then, but in this match against Israel the team from Belgium might need 3 points to get a secure spot in the Euro 2016.

That is why Belgium needs all the support they can get at this match, so if you want to be there at the King Baudouin Stadium on October 13th to watch this match, you better grab hold of your tickets as soon as possible. Israel will also come to this match probably knowing that three points can give them either a spot in the Euro 2016 or at least a spot among the teams getting to the qualification matches, so this will be a tense match where Belgium will enter as big favorites with stars such as Fellaini, de Bruyne, Lukaku, Hazard and Kompany in their team, all stars from the top leagues in Europe such as the Premier League and the German Bundesliga.

The match will start at 20.45 local time, so if you want to watch Belgium live, then go ahead and get ready. After all Belgium is one of the best football teams in the world at the moment according to the FIFA ranking, so have fun watching them!

Bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo

In June 2015 the Battle of Waterloo celebrates its anniversary and in this occasion a grandiose reconstruction of the battle will be shown in Waterloo.

To celebrate the bicentenary of Battle of Waterloo, which had a great impact of the history of many nations, different shows will be presented to the visitors. It is a great opportunity for everyone to have a closer look on the history and to follow its greatest moments as well. Over 300 horses, 100 canons and 5000 re-enactors will bring the Battle of Waterloo back to life for the visitors.

The first show will be on 18th June 2015 from 22.30, the next performance will be on the following day on 19th June 2015 from 20.00, the third one will be held on 20th June 2015 from 20.00 and the last show of the Bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo will be shown from 18th to 20th June in 2015. Exhibition on the works of Chagall

There will be a major exhibition on Chagall at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium from the end of February to the end of June 2015. The exhibition focuses on the works of Chagall.

Marc Chagall was a Russian-French artist who was born in 1887 and he died in 1985. At the exhibition over 200 various art works will be presented to the visitors and the exhibition gives a special attention to the works of his Russian period. The wide collection of his art works show the main themes of his work such as the connection with the Jewish culture, the various folk traditions, his discovery on the 17th literature (La Fontaine) and the use of colour and light on his paintings. The early works of 1908s until the final works of 1980s will be on display in the museum. This colourful exhibition gives the chance to the visitors to have an overall look on the artist’s career and the main stages and development in his art.

The exhibition on Chagall will be held from 28th February 2015 until 28th June 2015. The exhibition will take place at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.

Exploring the works of Portaels

The exhibition on the famous Belgian artist will be shown at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium from the middle of February to the end of May. The exhibition ‘Portaels and the call of the Orient’ shows the works of the Belgian painter.

The famous Belgian painter Jean Portaels was born in 1818 and he died in 1895. He is known for being one of the most influential painters of the 19th century in Belgium. The exhibition will answer the unanswered questions and reveal the secrets of his works. The exhibition mostly focuses on the early days of the works of Portaels and the exhibition displays the works of Portaels of the Orient travels which he made between 1845 and 1847. He transferred the experiences from Egypt, Syria and Palestine to sketches and paintings and later in his life Orientalism became his major theme. The exhibition will show countless of works of the Belgian painter even paintings and sketches that has never been exhibited before.

The exhibition ‘Portaels and the call of the Orient’ will take place at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels from 10th February 2015 to 31st May 2015. The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 17.00, from Saturday to Sunday it is open from 11.00 to 18.00.
